Our History

Scott and Amanda Fox own and operate Clean Slate Restoration. Scott and Amanda were born and raised in the Kanawha Valley and take great pride in serving these communities. Scott is a US Veteran, serving 8 years in the US Coast Guard and has been in the contracting industry since 2003. Scott directs the day-to-day operations of Clean Slate and is personally involved with each and every customer. Amanda is a graduate of Elon University (B.A. Business Marketing) and helps oversee the business elements of Clean Slate's operations. Scott and Amanda have four children and are heavily involved in giving back to their community. Scott was instrumental in the founding of Hope for Appalachia, a non-profit providing a support and recovery program for individuals who are battling addiction. Scott and Amanda are passionate about helping these families fight this difficult battle.

Clean Slate Restoration has been serving the Kanawha Valley since 2002 (previously under the name of Steamatic of WV). The Foxes and their employees proudly service customers throughout the Kanawha Valley and neighboring counties. It is their goal to expand services and continue the excellence that customers have come to expect of Clean Slate Restoration. Scott and Amanda place a high value on running and operating an ethical company that treats employees and customers with respect and dignity. Clean Slate is a family oriented business that aims to satisfy each and every customer they serve.

Our Team

Clean Slate Restoration brought Martin Ward onboard in August of 2018 and he has been a huge asset. As operations manager his main roles are organizing jobs, managing the schedule and working closely with our clients and insurance carries. Martin was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and has been in the United States since 2009. He is an alumni of University College of Dublin and graduated with honors in business management. Martin came to Clean Slate with over 20 years of experience in the restoration business, more than 15 of those years have been in management and senior management positions.

Martin has a wealth of knowledge about many areas of our business. He is IICRC certified in water, advanced structural drying, mold, fire and soot damage. He has been certified in commercial disaster restoration from Jim Thompson Large Loss Institute. He also has his certification in asbestos and lead removal. He has completed level 2 training in the estimating software Xactimate.
